I would like to welcome you to a MEXTESOL workshop on Designing Performance Tasks as an Alternative Form of Assessment on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. in salon #6. Although the specifics regarding the design of performance tasks are based on over 30 years of research in cognitive psychology, the workshop activities are practical enough to be relevant to a variety of learning theories (e.g., cognitivism, social cognitivism, activity theory, social-cultural theory, constructionism, constructivism, connectivism etc.). The workshop is designed to give teachers some practical tools in designing tasks that provide learner understandings (i.e., deep knowledge networks) through educative experiences that focus on practice and reflection.
Hello Rosa,
I´ll have some handouts that will be used during the workshop, and the PowerPoint will be available to anyone who is interested. I´ll also be providing my websites that I use in hopes that other interested teachers will remain in contact as to how they are working with the concepts that I will address in my talk.
I too am looking forward to Frank´s talk on connectivism.
Welcome to
